Part of the L-Mount Alliance
Panasonic, Sigma and Leica teamed up in 2018 to create an alliance of the L-Mount. Creating cameras such as the LUMIX S5 II and lenses that would be completely compatible across all three brands. This revolutionary alliance uses one unified mount to give the consumer the ultimate photographic experience and to future-proof their kit.
Panasonic lenses included in the Alliance
There is a wide range of focal lengths in the Panasonic L-Mount range including wide-angle, telephoto and prime, for example:
- Panasonic Lumix S 50mm F1.8 Lens
- Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm f3.5-5.6 Lens for L Mount
- Panasonic Lumix S 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 OIS Lens
Micro Four-Thirds Joy
For cropped sensor photographers Panasonic has mastered the micro four-thirds lens. With a crop factor of 2x, this extensive list of lenses offers creative solutions to any project.
What is a crop factor?
When a micro four-thirds lens is put onto a full-frame camera the focal length of the lens changes due to the different sensor sizes. The amount that a focal length changes is called the crop factor, for Panasonic lenses the crop factor is 2x. If for example, you placed the Panasonic 12-60mm f3.5-5.6 ASPH POWER O.I.S Lumix G Vario Lens on the full-frame LUMIX S5 II X then the lens would have an equivalent focal length of 24-120mm.
Choose from lenses suited to Nature, Landscape, Portrait and Street photography, plus so much more. Micro Four-Thirds Lenses include:
- Panasonic 25mm f1.4 II Leica DG Summilux ASPH Micro Four Thirds Lens
- Panasonic 42.5mm f1.7 G ASPH POWER OIS Lumix Lens
From photo to video
Shooting videography with a Panasonic mirrorless camera such as a GH5M2 will always give you great results, after you’ve invested in the camera you need to invest in some lenses to go with it. Which lenses to buy will be dependent on what you are filming, for example, the Panasonic 15mm f1.7 Leica Summilux DG ASPH Micro Four Thirds Lens will give you wide angles for interviews, establishing shots and YouTube. A zoom lens such as the Panasonic Lumix S 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 OIS Lens will offer you some versatility with your shots and allow you to explore creative possibilities. And the Panasonic 14-140mm F3.5-5.6 II ASPH.Power O.I.S. Lumix G Vario Lens will provide you with the possibilities of extreme close ups and telephoto shooting.
