Great starter lens
This lens gives you the full-frame equivalent of 27-75mm focal range. Even on a full-frame sensor, you are given the ideal range seen in many starter kit lenses. Making this a great starter lens to add to your mirrorless camera body.
Highly versatile
As with many mirrorless camera lenses, this Sigma boasts an ultra-small and light body. Making it an incredibly versatile mirrorless zoom lens. It can be an ideal addition to almost any situation from landscape, portrait, architecture and street or event photography.
Fantastic optical performance
The optical performance is outstanding, the superb build quality means you can rest assured in the performance of this lens. The f2.8 aperture allows you to use this lens in even low light conditions, without loss of image quality.
Exceptionally fast and quiet AF
With the lens’ stepping motor the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN contemporary has been constructed to provide exceptionally fast and quiet autofocus. This quiet design is especially useful when capturing video footage. The fast-acting focus also enables you to capture fast-moving subjects.
Constructed with strong lightweight material
The construction of this lens has been taken into careful consideration. The barrel of the lens has been constructed with a polycarbonate called Thermally Stable Composite (TSC). This material has a thermal conductivity close to that of aluminium. This lightweight material has allowed Sigma to keep the overall construction of this lens very lightweight.
Stands up to frequent use
Sigma has saved weight in the overall construction of the barrel. This has allowed them to use metal components in the internal structures of the lens. The lens can demonstrate stable performance while standing up to frequent and heavy use. The key features gained by the TSC material means this lens is also good at operating in changing temperatures.
Great for close up photography
This lens has been designed with a minimum focusing distance of 12.1cm and a magnification of 1:2.8”, making it perfect for close-ups. This multifaceted lens is able to create expert high-quality images in a number of different situations.
