Event Schedule

What will the day look like?

The workshop starts in the centre of Cheltenham at the Cosy Club for a welcome coffee and a discussion on the plan for the day. This is followed by a back-to-basics session to get you up to speed on the correct technical approach to street photography, including a thorough overview of: Controlling manual camera settings including Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO and Manual focusing tips, including learning the Zone Focus System.

Following this you will be ready to head out into the bustling streets of central Cheltenham for a practical street-based workshop with hands-on guidance and instruction from Leica Specialist Ethan Cooper. During the day, there will be some challenges set to help give variety to your shots and improve focus. This will include looking for a particular colour, reflections and layering.

How long will the workshop be?

We have planned out this workshop to fill a good portion of your morning and early afternoon. The practical element of the workshop will comprise 3 to 4 hours of light city walking with time to shoot as a group, individually and with guidance. We will aim to take a 45-minute break halfway through for some lunch (not included).

The workshop finishes back at the Clifton Cameras store for an informal review of the group’s images from the day and the chance to get an 8x10 print of your favourite image. Helpful tips and critiques will be offered, including advice on how best to approach editing your images.
