Maestro IV processor
Upgrading from the Maestro III, the Maestro IV processor powers the Leica SL3-S, for processing large volumes of data quickly while ensuring smooth and efficient operation. This high-performance processor enhances both photo and video applications with features like rapid signal processing, optimal noise characteristics, and Leica's signature colour reproduction. Capable of integrating with the camera’s PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and image stabilisation, it supports fast shooting and a reactive interface, including multishot modes at 48MP or 96MP, to deliver unparalleled performance in every scenario.
6K video recording
The Leica SL3-S elevates video production with advanced 6K recording capabilities, including RAW output via HDMI for uncompromising quality. Open-gate recording in a 3:2 aspect ratio leverages the full sensor range (rather than the typical 16:9 aspect ratio), which offers even more creative flexibility for framing decisions and adjustments in post. Plus, the use of Leica's renowned L-Log colour space ensures professional-grade colour accuracy and dynamic range, making the SL3-S an ideal choice for high-end cinematic productions. Integrated workflow
The Leica SL3-S is designed to streamline your creative process with comprehensive connectivity and adaptable workflow options. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with MIMO technology ensure a stable, high-speed connection to the Leica FOTOS App, enabling rapid transfer of DNG images and videos, remote camera control, firmware updates, and the application of Leica Looks presets directly to JPG files.
This L-Mount camera is adaptable to your setup, featuring multiple interfaces, including slots for CFexpress Type B and SD UHS-II cards, a USB-C port with 10Gbits for fast data transfer and charging, and a full-size HDMI Type A output for external monitors or recorders. Additional professional-grade connections such as 3.5mm audio In/Out ports and a dedicated timecode interface precisely synchronise image and sound.
Leica content credentials
A first in the SL-System, in partnership with the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI), Leica has engineered the SL3-S to enable tamper-proof digital signatures, recording metadata about the camera model, creation details, and any subsequent editing information within the image, therefore ensuring the authenticity of digital images.
