Zeiss Otus ML 1.4/50
Focus on your story with the Zeiss Otus ML 1.4/50 lens. Unmatched in performance and quality, this manual-focus Otus lens is built for ambitious photographers who strive to produce flawless images with every shot. It is one of the best lenses in its class due to its low sample variation, outstanding imaging performance and superior build quality.
50mm Manual Focus Lens
This Zeiss Otus Lens, 1.4/50, is the perfect 50mm choice for versatile photographers. It is an essential focal length for portraiture, product and landscape photography and the f1.4 aperture is wide enough to cover every lighting situation, including low and dim light. With this lens in your kit bag, you can concentrate on what is already in front of you for pure, immersive control.
Precision Manual Focus
When working to the highest level, precision is everything. The smooth, metal focus ring has a helicoid drive for buttery smooth manual control and the torque and rotation angle have been designed to find the sweet spot of sharpness. A long focus throw, without play, and clear, easily readable scales support an intuitive interaction across the whole image plane.
Signature Zeiss Quality with 3D Pop
Zeiss Distagon and Sonnar lenses are known for their unmatched image quality. The Zeiss Otus 1.4/50 is no different, optimised for the latest mirrorless cameras, it produces clear and sharp images with true-to-life colour, and that signature 3D Pop subject separation.
The apochromatic lens design, with 14 special lens elements, results in excellent colour fidelity with minimal fringing and close to zero chromatic aberration. The aspherical lens design has almost no field curvature for edge-to-edge performance and the T* coating eliminates flare and ghosting even when shooting in strong direct sunlight.
10-Blade f1.4 Aperture
The 10-blade aperture creates stunning subject separation with round bokeh at f1.4. It makes the Otus lens amazing for low and tricky lighting situations. The manual aperture control on the lens has a de-click function for fine-tuning the settings, ideal for filmmaking, as well as precise photography.
All-Weather Build
Optimised for the lightweight nature of mirrorless cameras the 50mm lens weighs 677g and is well balanced. The lens has an all-metal construction, designed for both durability and portability.
The Otus lens is crafted to withstand some of the most extreme environments, it is dust and splash-proof, usable between -20° to +55°C, has a blue seal ring to protect the camera mount and has been environmentally tested for mechanical, vibration and shock resistance up to DIN ISO 9022 standards.
