VEO 3GO 204CB Tripod
The VEO 3GO 204CB Tripod is part of Vanguard’s travel tripod range. The whole tripod can extend up to 131cm/51.6inches and weighs only 820g. Ultra-lightweight and ultra-compact, arca-compatible with a ball head, it is incredibly adaptable. The 204CB can also act as a macro tripod, a monopod and includes a smartphone connector. A bluetooth remote shutter trigger connects to mirrorless camera kits, DSLR cameras and smartphones.
Ultra-Lightweight & Ultra-Compact
The Carbon Fibre 204CB tripod is strong yet lightweight. Weighing only 820g/1.8lbs it can take a maximum payload of 3kg/6.6lbs. This latest range of VEO travel tripods take advantage of Vanguard’s recent investment in the latest Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology that has led to their tripods being built with much improved tolerances and quality.
The entire tripod can extend up to a maximum height of 131cm/51.6 inches so that images can be taken at a much more convenient height. For even more height, one of the legs unscrews to become a monopod that extends up to 134cm/52.8 inches. The legs of the tripod fold up around the central column for a more compact travel design that measures just 34cm/13.6 inches.
Arca Swiss Compatible VEO T-45 Ball Head
Provided with the tripod is the quick-release swiss compatible ball head - the VEO T-45. A key feature of which is the ergonomic locking knob that is easy to use even in weather conditions where gloves are required. The ball head is secured to the central column with grub screws in order to prevent the photographer from accidentally unscrewing the head as they set up their shot. Please note that the 204CB is not suitable for panoramic shots, for these images we recommend the VEO 3GO 235 model.
All-Weather Terrain
Vanguard have designed this travel tripod to go around the world and come back again. Never miss a shot thanks to the rapid set twist locks allow the tripod to be released in seconds. The leg locks can then easily be dismantled, cleaned and reassembled so that you can be confident to photograph in harsher, muddier or sandier environments and not risk damaging the tripod.
For photography in particularly windy areas, the Carbon Fibre travel tripod has a retractable hook located at the base of the centre column that a camera bag or additional weight can be hooked too, securing the tripod in place.
Additionally the tripod comes with rubber feet that secure grip on most surfaces. For more challenging terrain such as mud these rubber feet can be swapped out for spiked feet (available separately).
Highly Versatile
This tripod is a jack-of-all-trades. Choose between three easy set leg angles (21°, 50° and 80°) that allow the tripod to be set up on any terrain. At 80°, remove the central column and attach the ball head directly to the tripod for stable macro shots at ground level.
Alternatively, take the leg that unscrews from the rest of the tripod, attach the central column for an extendable monopod, vlogging stick or selfie stick.

This kit comes with a smartphone adaptor that fits any phone up to 87mm/3.4 inches wide. The tripod even has a Bluetooth remote shutter trigger so that images can be taken from a distance - perfect for using the tripod as a selfie stick or to maximise stability.

Should I choose the Aluminium or Carbon Fibre tripod?
This can come down to personal preference. The main advantage of the Aluminium option is that it is cheaper however it is heavier. Carbon Fibre is much more light-weight which has definite benefits but it is more expensive.

How does the smartphone adaptor work?
Simply screw it into the top, then push your phone in and up into the adaptor which will hold the phone in place no matter its width, up to 87mm.
How does the Bluetooth Remote Shutter Trigger work?
Turn on the Bluetooth on either your smartphone or Bluetooth compatible camera to connect to the trigger. Set up your shot and shoot - it's as easy as that!
Is this tripod good for vlogging?
We definitely think so. The central column comes out to act as a monopod, simply add either your vlogging camera (why not try the Sony ZV-1) or smartphone and start shooting with the click of the remote trigger button.
