Dobsonian is legendary among astronomy telescopes and they have used their expertise to create the Ursa Major 8” f/6 Dobsonian telescope, designed to provide you with a lifetime of observing the universe.
Easy to use
The 8” aperture makes the Ursa Major an excellent choice for visual astronomy, providing incredible views of several celestial objects. Including Mars with surface shading and polar cap, Jupiter's weather bands, and several of its moons. The 8” aperture allows for 1.78X more light gathering than the 6” version, allowing you to enjoy excellent views of many deep sky objects like the M42/ Orion Nebula.
Minimum 93% Reflectivity
The Ursa Major 8” Dobsonian telescope is fitted with GSO Aluminised Parabolic Primary Mirrors offering a minimum of 93% reflectivity and a silicon dioxide protective overcoat, ensuring the surface remains bright for years of use.
Easy collimation adjustment
The primary mirror cell has been designed with collimation knobs to allow for easy collimation adjustment without tools.
Smooth & Accurate Focusing
Featuring a CNC-machined 2” Crayford focuser, the Uras Major 8” Dobsonian offers smooth accurate focusing and zero image shift.
Easy To Adjust
The Ursa Major 8" f/6 Dobsonian makes use of Teflon pads, which provide smooth altitude movement and tension can be adjusted to achieve the right amount of resistance. A spring tension system prevents the telescope from moving during eyepiece changes. Smooth and reliable azimuth (left-right) adjustments are achieved thanks to it’s robust roller-bearing assembly.
