Highly portable
This compact, sharp-looking 50mm lens is only slightly bigger than a pancake lens with a length of 35mm, however, does weigh around 200g due to its all-metal construction. 6 elements in 5 groups allow for crisp images and compact build quality, so the lens performs well without making your camera feel front-heavy.
Bright and sharp
As a manual-focus-only lens, the focus ring is very smooth and nicely dampened, offering a minimum focus distance of 0.5m. While other 50mm lenses are likely to have a shorter minimum focussing distance, the magnification still allows for some well-lit close-up shots. The clicked aperture ring rotates through values between f2 to f16, giving less noise to low-light environments for improved image quality.
Smooth bokeh
At f2 you can achieve a nice level of background blur and let in a good amount of light for any dimly lit environment you’re shooting in. A shallow depth of field will be produced on the larger sensors that this lens supports. The 10 aperture blades give a smooth bokeh that is retained fairly well when stopped down and lens coatings do a good job at limiting flare and aberrations.
