The Sony FE 400-800mm f6.3-8 G OSS is a super-telephoto lens that is perfect for wildlife, sports, and action. The lens is compatible with both the Sony 1.4x* and 2.0x* E-Mount Teleconverters to give you a reach of up to 1600mm so that you can capture subjects from far off distances with exceptional detail. Other fantastic features include six ED glass elements, fast AF tracking, internal zoom and weather sealing for use in bad weather conditions.

The Sony FE 400-800mm f6.3-8 G OSS allows you to get closer to the action thanks to its versatile zoom length. The lens is also compatible with the Sony 1.4x* and 2.0x* E-Mount Teleconverters for even greater reach while maintaining high resolution. The lens has a close focus distance of 1.7 metres at the 400mm side and 3.5 metres at the 800mm length.

The Sony FE 400-800mm features 11 aperture blades and is made up of 27 elements in 19 groups. This includes six ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements to ensure outstanding sharpness as well as minimise axial chromatic aberration for high-contrast, detailed images across the entire zoom range.

The Sony FE 400-800mm is capable of fast, precise autofocus (AF) thanks to two linear motors that enable smooth subject tracking at up to 120 fps burst shooting.
Compact and Lightweight
The lens weighs in at just 2475g which is very reasonable for a lens of this focal length. It is also compact with a length of just 346mm. This is further aided by an internal zoom mechanism that ensures that the centre of gravity is always stable for easier handling out in the field.
