This wide-angle FE 35mm f/1.4 GM lens features incredibly fast autofocus speed, extraordinary bokeh, thanks to its f/1.4 aperture, and is perfect for a wide range of uses including landscapes, portraits and street photography. This lens is the latest in Sony's G Master full-frame lens series and is perfect for both stills and video.
Outstanding resolution in a compact lens
Weighing 524g and measuring 76mm x 96mm this Sony 35mm Lens is both compact and lightweight. Add to this its fast aperture of f1.4 and 35mm wide-angle and you have the perfect lens for landscapes, portraits and street photography. It also has a minimum focusing distance of 0.27 metres.
The lens has 2 XA (extreme aspherical) elements that effectively maintain superb resolution throughout the image area as well as an ED glass element and other optical refinements effectively suppress chromatic aberration and purple fringing for breathtaking results.
Beautiful bokeh
This lens creates beautiful bokeh and a smooth drop-off when isolating your subject when utilising the lens wide-open for its shallow depth of field. The rounded 11-blade diaphragm is ideal for adding separation or dreamlike quality to any number of applications.
The combination of f1.4 maximum aperture and the flexibility to choose the perfect shooting distance (minimum focusing distance of just 27cm with a maximum magnification of 0.23x in autofocus mode) allows for ultimate control and stunning bokeh when shooting both stills and video.

The Sony FE 35mm f1.4 GM Lens delivers fast and quiet autofocus, thanks to two of Sony’s XD (extreme dynamic) Linear Motors that provide the high thrust efficiency needed for precise AF (autofocus) and tracking – resulting in outstanding resolution at any distance
State-of-the-art control algorithms, developed specifically for the XD Linear Motors, improve control response and precision whilst minimizing vibration and noise for fast, smooth and silent AF performance. Advanced focusing can also be achieved when shooting at a high frame rate.
Linear Response MF is ideal for creative focusing effects when shooting video as it ensures the focus ring responds to subtle control when focusing manually. The focus ring rotation translates directly to a corresponding change in focus, so control feels immediate and precise.
Full professional control
The lens offers full professional control, with a focus hold button, focus mode switch to support smooth, efficient operation and an aperture ring with switchable click stops can be turned off for movie shooting.
When using this lens on an APS-C camera it can be used as a standard lens equivalent to 52.5mm, making it the perfect choice for creating videos.
The focus hold button can be assigned to several other functions via a camera body menu, providing direct access to functions that are vital to photographers and videographers alike. It was created to be reliable with a dust and moisture resistant design and a fluorine front element coating that repels water, oil, and other contaminants.
