The FE 14mm f1.8 GM Lens boasts a large aperture and an ultra-wide angle with G Master quality. The lens offers an innovative, compact design that delivers breathtaking resolution and gorgeous bokeh, at a maximum f1.8 aperture, as well as fast, precise AF making this a lens that can give you a new perspective on everyday images.
Outstanding Resolution
The lens features two XA (extreme aspherical) elements to achieve outstanding corner-to-corner resolution even at the lens’s maximum F1.8 aperture. Colour bleeding has been suppressed thanks to one Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and two ED glass elements to produce image-wide sharpness and clarity, while Sony’s Nano AR Coating II subdues flare and ghosting.
Compact and Lightweight
The lens weighs just 460 grams and measures only 83 × 99.8 mm making it both compact and lightweight while delivering outstanding performance. This is a lens that you can take with you wherever you go.
Perfect for Starry Skies and Night Shoots
The large f1.8 aperture of the lens allows for shooting in low-light situations without having to resort to using extremely slow shutter speeds, while the high-curvature XA front element helps to minimize sagittal flare so that you can shoot starry skies and other night scenes with ease. Add to this the ultra-wide focus length and you will be able to capture some truly stunning images of the night sky.
Smooth, refined G Master bokeh
Precise XA elements, a 9-blade circular aperture mechanism, and optimally managed aberration, contribute to gorgeous G Master bokeh that can really make a portrait and other subjects stand out, especially with the shallow depth of field available at the lens’s maximum F1.8 aperture. Add to this a minimum focusing distance of just 25cm and you can get extremely close-up perspectives with beautiful bokeh in expansive backgrounds.

The FE 14mm f1.8 GM Lens is perfect for videography thanks to its two XD (extreme dynamic) Linear Motors that provides fast, precise and quiet AF performance allowing you to shoot video, with ultra-wide angles, in environments that require discretion such as weddings, presentations and sports events.
Dust and Moisture Resistant
The lens has been constructed with a fluorine coating on the front element to repel water, oil and other contaminants, allowing you to shoot in challenging outdoor conditions.
