Improved Features
The MK2 set has improved features compared to the MKII including weather sealing at the lens mount which protects against dust, light rain and snow. The MK2 also has increased the number of aperture blades to 9 which produces beautiful rounded bokeh that adds a three-dimensional quality to the subject, and 18-ray starburst effects.
All the models in the VDSLR MK2 range have unified focus and gear ring positions for easy lens changes that do not require adjustments on follow-focus systems and rigs. Focus scales, apertures and focal lengths are also visible on both sides of the lenses for improved ease of use.
Samyang VDSLR 14mm T3.1 MK2
This dedicated cine lens performs exceptionally, producing professional-grade videography from a compact body. The 14mm T3.1 MK2 is perfect for capturing wide-angle shots such as sweeping landscapes or architectural structures.
Samyang VDSLR 35mm T1.5 MK2
The 35mm T1.5 MK2 Samyang lens is the perfect travel companion. Wide enough for larger group shots and large rooms, it does not produce too much distortion allowing it to be used for portraiture too.
Samyang VDSLR 85mm T1.5 MK2
Use this 85mm T1.5 MK2 lens for exceptional closer shots and B-roll. Capture beautiful bokeh and shoot in low-lighting conditions with the fast T1.5.

FAQs
What is a T-Stop?
The T-Stop number is the (light) Transmission number found on Cine lenses and is similar to the F-Stop on still image lenses. In professional-level cinematography, where accuracy is so important, it is critical to know exactly how the lens is operating. The T-Stop number factors in the lens’ aperture and the light absorption and gives you the Transmission number.

Who are these lenses for?
The Samyang VDSLR lenses are perfect for those who are moving into creating exceptional video content. They produce professional-quality imagery at a relatively affordable price making them very popular with YouTubers.
Can you take photos with a Cinelens?
Whilst you can technically mount a Cinelens to a camera to take still images there are certain trade-offs that mean that it is not the most practical idea. Focusing, for example, is more difficult as videography lenses have long focus throws which are perfect for tracking focus in moving image but not fast enough for capturing that split-second shot.
What is the difference between the Samyang VDSLR MKII and the MK2?
Despite the similar-sounding names, the new MK2 have some defining improvements.
The MK2 features weather sealing at the mount, 9 aperture blades, a modernised look and lens metrics written on both sides for ease of use.
