Its nine-blade, round shaped lens construction provides the photographer with natural and super soft bokeh.
High Definition Coating
Featuring Pentax’s latest HD coating, compared to conventional multi-layer coatings, this high grade coating minimises the average reflectance in the visible light range by more than 50%. This in turn minimises the adverse effects of flare and ghost images even in the most demanding lighting conditions, such as backlighting.
Weather Resistant Build
Prevent the intrusion of water in to the lens barrel even in the most extreme weathers. When mounted to a Pentax weather resistant DSLR camera body it assures a reliable and durable system in even the most demanding scenarios, including rain or mist and shooting locations prone to spray or water splashes.
Super Protect Coating
Applied to the front surface, the lens features a Super Protect (SP) coating. The coating is highly repellent to water, grease and dirt making it easy to wipe off stains such as fingerprints. The coating is applied via Pentax’s exclusive fluorine deposition process.
Quick and Quiet AF
A Supersonic Direct-drive Motor is built into the lens to assure high-speed AF that’s also incredibly quiet. Aiding the wildlife or wedding photographer when trying to capture those fleeting moments.
The lens also features a Quick-shift Focus System that provides an instant shift to manual-focus operation after locking the subject in focus during AF. This function is completed by pressing the shutter-release button halfway down.
