This versatile lens is the perfect all-round lens, letting you capture everything from detailed landscapes to beautiful portrait photographs. Constructed of 16 elements across 13 groups with 2 aspherical lenses and 2 extra-low dispersion elements to combat chromatic aberrations and give wonderful amounts of resolution in your work.
Improved Sensor
The LUMIX S1R II features a new and improved 44.3MP Full-frame BSI CMOS sensor coupled with the latest engine with L2 technology. Producing natural, high-resolution rendering with rich colour expression, high dynamic range and high sensitivity shooting with low noise. The Improved full-frame sensor and processor combination allows the Panasonic LUMIX S1R II to achieve a Standard ISO range of ISO 80-51200 and an extended range of ISO 40-102400.
Real-Time LUT
Bring your footage to life on camera and apply your unique colour expressions straight out of the camera. Panasonic has integrated real-time LUTs into the LUMIX S1R II, allowing you to expand your creative image by applying LUTs in cameras. You can overlay two LUTs, save up to 39 LUTs, and support”.VLT” and “.CUBE” formats. Create your own custom LUTs in the LUMIX Lab app and transfer them to the LUMIX S1RII Camera, which will be ready and waiting for you next time you need to use them.
Phase Hybrid AF
Keeping up with the LUMIX S1R II’s high-quality image performance, Panasonic has integrated an evolved Phase Hybrid AF. It features a phase-detection AF system with 779 points of distance measurement, improved real-time recognition, and an improved Tracking AF mode.
New Motorcycle/ Bike AF Detection
Improved subject detection allows you to recognise, identify and focus on a wide range of subjects including Humans, Animals, Cars, Trains, and Airplanes and now supports Motorcycle and Bike subject detection. The evolved AF system also lets you target parts of your subject, for example, target the entire subject when tracking a person on a motorbike or select to track their helmet only. Perfect for keeping your subject in focus when the environment is whizzing past.
Active I.S. Technology
The LUMIX S1R II has an 8.0-stops 5-Xis B.I.S system, which captures sharp photos even at slow shutter speeds. For moments when the B.I.S system drops, the 7.0-stop 5-Axis Dual I.S system steps up to provide powerful compensation even in telephoto ranges. Remove your limits with Active I.S Technology including B.I.S & Dual I.S, Boost I.S, Active I.S and E.I.S modes. Ideal for various applications such as large shaking, unstable walking shots, wide-angle lenses or anamorphic lenses.
Burst Shooting
Don’t miss that crucial moment. The LUMIX S1R II is capable of AFC/ AFS 40fps with Blackout free, offering a choice of 0.5,1.0 or 1.5-second pre-burst shooting in SH Pre-burst mode, capturing every second of movement. The LUMIX S1R II also features new H+ (High-Speed Plus) burst shooting, which prioritises burst shooting speed when the AFC setting is enabled.
177MP High-Resolution Mode
Large-scale images demand high resolution, especially when printing large canvas photographs, and the LUMIX S1R II doesn’t disappoint. The S1R II’s high-resolution mode captures 8 consecutive images while shifting the sensor using the B.I.S system and then combines them into one high-resolution image. The high-performance engine allows both 177MP JPEG and RAW recording or RAW processing in playback mode. In locations where a tripod can't be used the Panasonic LUMIX S1R Mark II offers a handheld high-resolution mode, providing more flexibility with handheld shooting.
8K Video and Open Gate Technology
The LUMIX S1R II is Panasonic LUMIX’s first full-frame camera capable of 8K video at 8.1K 17:9 8128x4288 and 8K 16:9 7680x4320. Reframing and re-editing aspect ratios are a thing of the past with the new LUMIX Open Gate recording technology. Capture Open Gate Recording 6.4k 30p 10-bit and crop your footage to any aspect ratio.
Versatile Video Format
The LUMIX S1R II meets the demand for cinema use with its versatile recording format, allowing you to record footage in several full-frame and APS-C formats, including 17:9 8.1K 8128x4288 4:2:0 10-bit 30p/25p/24p. The LUMIX S1R II features ProRes RAW HQ Internal Recording at 5.8K (17:9) 5760x3040 resolution with no external device needed, offering enhanced mobility with eliminated external devices and exceptional gimbal compatibility.
HDMI Video Data Output
Record 8K video to an external recorder via an HDMI cable thanks to the LUMIX S1R II’s HDMI Video Data Output. With plans for future firmware updates to enable RAW video output to the ATOMOS external recorder and Blackmagic Design external recorder, the Panasonic LUMIX S1R Mark II really is shaping up to be a filmmaker's best friend.
Proxy Video Recording
Simultaneously recording a low bit-rate proxy file that is linked with the original video, enabling a faster delivery from production to post. For example, record your original video on a CFexpress Card or SSD card in slot 1 and record a Proxy on a SD card in slot 2.
Integrated Film Makers Features
Several new features have been integrated into the video and film settings of the LUMIX S1R II, including Frame Makers, False Colour which relapses brightness levels with colours for display, a shutter speed limiter and a photo/video switch for improved usability for hybrid users. The LUMIX S1R II has been designed with a front/rear tally lamp, indicating the camera recording and standby conditions to the subject and camera operator, the brightness and on/off settings can be adjusted individually.
32-bit Float Recording
Record high-quality audio without adjusting sound recording levels with the LUMIX S1R II’s 32-bit Float Recording when used with the XLR microphone adaptor DMW-XLR2 (sold separately).
New Tilt & Free-angle Monitor & High-Resolution EVF
The rear monitor has been redesigned as a tilt and free-angle monitor, allowing you to tilt the monitor up and down along the optical axis and can also be rotated freely while tilted without interfering with HDMI or USB cables. The LUMIX S1R II has been designed with a 5.76 million dots OLED EVF, providing superb response speed and reliably capturing fast-moving subjects.
Crop Zoom/ Hybrid Zoom
Extend your telephoto range seamlessly with the crop zoom and hybrid zoom functions, for example, extend a 24mm focal length up to 441mm. The crop zoom utilises the centre part of the sensor to extend the zoom range while maintaining image quality, allowing you to zoom even with fixed focal length lenses. The hybrid zoom utilises both optical and crop zoom to further extend the focal length, offering smooth zoom control via a zoom ring.
New Shutter Closing Function
The body of the LUMIX S1R II is freeze-resistant and dust/splash-resistant with a compact, durable magnesium alloy body. The shutter can be set to close when the camera power is off, helping to further protect the sensor from dust.
Dual Card Slots & SSD Recording
Dual card slots include a slot for a CFexpress Type B card and a second slot for an SD Memory Card. Ideal for proxy recording and also provides extra space when you really need it. The LUMIX S1R II supports USB-SSD recording, ideal for recording large quantities of high-bitrate video. The USB-SDD recording offers multiple benefits including faster write speeds, better heat management and a more streamlined process, simply plug the SSD drive from your camera straight into your computer.

The Panasonic LUMIX S1R Mark II is compatible with capture one tethering, enabling real-time editing, with detailed RAW processing during tethered shooting. Upload, back up and share your work automatically with the Fream.io camera to the cloud system.
