Leica SL2 Body
Introducing the Leica SL2 L-mount full-frame mirrorless camera. Boasting an incredible 47.3MP sensor, a new Maestro 111 processor with 4GB buffer, an improved viewfinder, 5-axis in-body image stabilisation and an improved grip.
-
Full Frame 47.3MP sensor
The camera boasts a 47.3-megapixel full-frame sensor that has been designed with only two glass elements to minimise stray reflections. This allows for the Leica SL Lenses to deliver their legendary, unparalleled quality.
-
Improved viewfinder
Another new feature is the 5760k-dot high-resolution EVF. This allows you to preview your shots exactly as they will turn out. The EVF has a large eyecup for comfort and has a sensor for automatically detecting when it’s lifted to your eye.
New Maestro 111 processor with 4GB Buffer
The Leica SL2 houses the new Maestro 111 processor with a 4GB buffer allowing up to 20fps and a buffer memory of 78 for DNG files and 100 for JPG.
Lighter Magnesium Body
The body of the camera is constructed of aluminium and magnesium and weighs a sprightly 835g (without a battery) which is 12g lighter than its predecessor.
-
Perfect for cinematographers
The SL2 can capture stunning video footage as well as outstanding stills. It can capture up to 60fps in 4K cine mode, up to 180fps in Full-HD and even 30fps in 5K.
It is also possible to connect a microphone and head jack without the use of adapters thanks to the built-in headphone and mic jacks as well as an HDMI connector for external monitoring.
-
Separate photo and video interface
A very useful feature on the SL2 is a unique user interface that allows you to switch between photo and video functions with ease.
When used in video mode ISO becomes ASA, shutter speed is marked in degrees and the f-stops are replaced by T-stops, which measure the actual amount of light transmitted through the lens.
-
Compatible with more than 170 Leica Lenses
Not only is the Leica SL2 compatible with SL-Lenses, but also with TL-system lenses. It is also possible to use M, S and R-system lenses via an adapter (sold separately) making over 170 lenses compatible with this camera.
-
Compatible with Leica FOTOS App 2.0
As of November 21, 2019, the Leica FOTOS app will be available in version 2.0. You can expect many new features and a whole new mobile workflow experience on the iPad. This will be fully compatible with the Leica SL2.

Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 f/2.8 ASPH
Leica's brand new Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 f2.8 ASPH is part of their L-Mount lens range. Designed to be compact and fast, this standard zoom lens is an ideal addition to any Leica photographer's or videographer's portfolio.
Compact Standard Zoom
The new 24-70mm f/2.8 is extremely compact for a zoom lens. It fits comfortably onto any L-Mount Leica camera with minimal disturbance to the balance of the camera in your hand. This makes it a perfect travel lens for those wanting to photograph on the go with a lens that responds quickly to any shooting scenario without needing to change lenses.
Lens Construction
The lens is constructed out of 19 elements in 15 groups, including three aspherical lens elements which correct monochromatic aberations, as well as nine elements made from glasses with anomlaous partial dispertion for the correction of chormatic aberations. A single lightweight lens element moves for fast, virtually lag-free autofocus. The 11 aperture blades then ensure harmonious bokeh for endless creative compostions.
Constant Aperture
Enjoy a constant aperture of f2.8 at any focal range. Whether you are shooting an extreme close up or telephoto, this lens can always be opened up to f2.8 no matter what focusing distance is selected. Additionally, shoot confidently, even in low light at f2.8 with minimal disturbance. This option opens up creative possibilities for portraiture and product photography by highlighting the desired subject and surrounding them with a blurred background with natural and creamy bokeh.
Corrected Chromatic Aberrations
The Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm f/2.8 is constructed of glass elements including three aspherical (ASPH) lens elements. This vastly helps the lens correct focusing aberrations and create crisp focus from corner to corner. Chromatic Aberrations are fixed by the nine elements of anomalous glass that make up the construction of the lens.
18cm Minimum Focusing Distance
Get close and personal with your chosen subject. The 24-70 Vario Elmarit has an impressive minimum focusing distance of just 18cm. Perfect for macro photography and extreme close up shots. Pair this with the f2.8 for sharp highlighted points of view in your photography.
Fast and Quiet AF
Leica is well known for it’s impressive fast and quiet autofocus systems. The 24-70 lens is no different. The stepping motor autofocus system is extremely fast so that photographing is free from lag and you can ensure that your equipment is moving as fast as you are. The near-silent autofocus is unobtrusive and precise, working harmoniously with the Leica S, SL2 or SL2-S, as well as any other camera with an L-Mount bayonet.

FAQ
What does Vario-Elmarit-SL mean?
Leica names their lenses based on a few different qualities. This is how this lens breaks down:
Vario = zoom lens
Elmarit = aperture of f2.8
SL = made for a full frame sensor
What does Constant Aperture mean?
Constant Aperture means that no matter what focal distance you select to take your image at, the maximum aperture that you can open this too is always f2.8. You can however change the aperture number, just because it is constant does not mean it is fixed and you can therefore expand the amount you have in focus just as you can on most other lenses.
What is this lens best for?
The standard 24-70mm zoom makes it a perfect all-rounder lens. We think it will be a great travel companion though.
