The filter features an oil and water repellent coating so that you can use it in less than ideal weather conditions worry free.
Added Insurance
The objective lens is the most sensitive and valuable area of a spotting scope and any damage to it can drastically reduce the optical performance. Often the only option is to completely replace the front objective lens.
