Ergonomic design
Providing unrivalled image quality and versatility in a portable package, at only 883g with the SD card and battery, this Medium Format GFX camera is a lightweight hybrid photographer’s dream. A stylish leather pattern enhances grip strength at various angles when holding the camera. The magnesium-alloy construction offers water resistance while dual UHS-II SD slots ensure you can keep capturing the action.
Use the mic/headphone 3.5mm jack and 2.5mm remote jack to complete your set-up.
Silent & Fast AF Performance
The Fujifilm 35-70mm lens offers silent, fast and highly accurate AF performance, allowing you to use the lens in all situations including close-up photography as it has a minimum focusing distance of just 25cm from the front-most element of the lens and 35cm across the entire zoom range.
Face / Eye Detection AF modes are also supported so that fast and highly accurate AF is achieved as quickly as 0.13 seconds in silence for instantaneous focusing on a subject's face/eyes.
The low operation noise during focusing makes this a perfect lens to use for video as well as photography.
Lens Construction
The lens consists of 11 elements, which include one aspherical element and two ED elements in nine groups, It has been weather-sealed at 9 locations to make it dust and moisture-resistant and can be used in temperatures as low as -10oC.
Full control
6 custom settings, plus PSAM modes, front and rear command dials, a custom Fn button, and a movie/still switch help you capture photos and video with familiarity and ease. A top display 1.8-inch monochrome LCD monitor lets you view key settings at a glance for quick adjustments.
Large format
The BSI CMOS II Sensor enables shooting in a large format with a 4:3 ratio at a high quality. The GFX 100S II can also operate in ratios of 3:2, 16:9, 65:24, 5:4, and 7:6. Shoot in 16-bit RAW and 10-bit HEIF. 100-megapixel images in accurate colour can be processed using pixel shift multi-shot, or at 400-megapixels for high resolution and accurate colour.
Improvements to the pixel design of this GFX 102MP CMOS II have increased the number of saturated electrons in the sensor. This allows the camera to use ISO 80 as the standard sensitivity setting, capturing images with a wider dynamic range and less noise than the previous model.
Additionally, enhanced microlenses increase light use efficiency at the sensor's edges and improve image quality and AF accuracy.
Rich tonal expression, three-dimensional rendering capabilities and AI-based subject detection are possible with the X-Processor 5.
Fast AF
An updated AF algorithm makes for faster and more accurate capture than ever. Animal, bird, aeroplane, automobile, bike, and train subject detection, lets you focus on taking the shot, while the X-Processor 5 does all the rest.
Wide tracking AF, face/eye autofocus, and custom zone AF allow for situational focussing options that keep your subject clear. To track an object, or even in situations with multiple subjects with the GFX100S II, select AF-C mode with Wide/Tracking AF, then simply touch the subject on the rear LCD.
Other key autofocus features include an AF range limiter, 8-way AF lever, 425 AF points, and AF-C custom settings to help you capture the best possible subject clarity during fleeting moments and fast-paced shooting environments.
Additionally, AI auto white balance and AI deep learning get the most out of your environment while keeping your subject in focus.
8-Stops IBIS
8 stops of in-body image stabilisation are achieved through the system’s processing of image sensor and gyro sensor information, giving you steady shots even when handheld. Plus, use IS Mode Boost for rock-steady video.
Adventurous stills
Image capture at 16-bit RAW or 10-bit HEIF for stills provides striking detail while 7fps continuous shooting and a shutter speed of 1/4000s ensures you never miss the moment.
Some of the settings available include Smooth Skin Effect, Colour Chrome Effect, Clarity, Grain Effect, and more which grant you the creative freedom to try out new photography styles, along with easily accessible presets for quickly adapting the camera to new shooting requirements.
MF assist modes
Manual focus assist modes such as Digital Splitt Image, Digital Microprism, and Focus Peak Highlight can be used to determine your subject's clear and blurred sections for accurate focusing.
High-resolution viewing
For optimal framing and viewing of your video and photography, the camera hosts a 0.5 OLED high-resolution electronic viewfinder (EVF) and a 3.2-inch tilt-type LCD, offering a high-resolution display of 5.76 mil dot and 2.36 mil dot respectively.
In-camera RAW lets you view your RAW video on the LCD monitor, rather than needing a separate field monitor.
High-quality video
With 4K/30P internal recording at 4:2:2 10-bit, the Fujifilm 100S II is capable of giving you a cinema-quality video output. It also features F-Log/F-Log2 13+ DR for video recording with a wide dynamic range gamma curve enabling colour grading after shooting. The standard ISO100 setting can be used to produce video footage with even higher image quality.
Additional video functions include a Rec. Frame Indicator and tally light for peace of mind when recording, as well as Zebra Setting, Waveform, and Vectorscope modes which relay information on exposure, brightness, and colour so you can adjust your shot’s framing or settings to achieve your desired outcome.
Through a USB connection, the GFX 100S II can be used as a webcam for 4K/60P or 4K/30P video quality.
Enhanced workflow
The 100S II is also compatible with Bluetooth or camera-to-cloud transfer, giving content creators the ability to upload media to the FUJIFILM XApp or alternatives such as Frame.io in 12-bit ProRes/Blackmagic RAW, allowing creators to share media, collect feedback, manage reviews, and deliver finished work faster. Plus, use an External SSD to store all your content safely.
20 film simulation modes
There are 20 film simulation modes available through Eterna, such as Reala Ace to give videographers or cinematographers a flat and low-saturation look. These film simulations combine faithful colour reproduction and well-defined tonal articulation, to convey a broad spectrum of hues.
