DJI Zenmuse L1
The DJI Zenmuse L1 is a 20MP, 1-inch CMOS sensor camera that integrates a Livox Lidar module and a high-accuracy IMU (inertial measurement unit), on a 3-axis stabilised gimbal. When used with the DJI Matrice 300 RTK Drone and/or DJI Terra, it forms a complete solution that gives you real-time 3D data throughout the day, efficiently capturing the details of complex structures and delivering highly accurate reconstructed models.
What is the DJI Zenmuse L1 used for?
The DJI Zenmuse L1 has many uses including;
- Topographic Mapping - Generate topographic maps quickly using accurate digital elevation models.
- AEC and Surveying - Manage the full project lifecycle using highly accurate point clouds and 3D models.
- Emergency Response - Any time of the day, gather critical insights in real-time using true-colour point clouds.
- Law Enforcement - Gain situational awareness and forensic intel in real-time to make informed decisions on site.
- Energy and Infrastructure - Model sparse or complex structures in detail to manage them efficiently and safely.
- Agriculture and Forestry Management - Gain insight into vegetation density, area, stock volume, canopy width, and growth trends.
Exceptional Efficiency
The DJI Zenmuse L1 allows you to generate true-colour point cloud models in real-time, or acquire 2 km2 of point cloud data in a single flight. [1] This is made possible thanks to the Livox frame Lidar module that produces a 70° FOV.
Livox Lidar Module
- Frame Lidar with up to 100% effective point cloud results
- Detection Range: 450m (80% reflectivity, 0 klx) / 190 m (10% reflectivity, 100 klx
- Effective Point Rate: 240,000 pts/s
- Supports 3 Returns [3]
- Non-repetitive scanning pattern, Repetitive scanning pattern
High-accuracy IMU
The Zenmuse L1 features a high-accuracy IMU (inertial measurement unit), along with a vision sensor for positioning accuracy, as well as the incorporation of GNSS data for centimetre-accurate reconstructions.
Ready for Anything
You can operate the Zenmuse L1 in rainy or foggy conditions thanks to its IP54 rating while the Lidar module’s active scanning method allows you to fly even at night.
Recreate the World in 3D Point Clouds
The Zenmuse L1 uses real-time point clouds to provide immediate insights. This ensures that operators are informed so that they can make critical decisions quickly. It is also possible to verify fieldwork quality immediately after the flight by checking point cloud data.
You can acquire and communicate critical dimensions on the point cloud model using measurements and annotations.[4]
Compatible with DJI Terra Software
The Zenmuse L1 is compatible with DJI Terra software to aid in post-processing. The software fuses the IMU and GNSS data for point cloud and visible light calculations, as well as conducting POS data calculations so you can effortlessly generate reconstructed models and accuracy reports.

[1] Over 30 minutes, at a speed of 13 m/s, a flight altitude of 100 m, with a side overlap rate of 10%, point cloud density > 100 points/m2.
[2] The accuracy was measured after a 5-minute warm-up, using Mapping Mission with Calibration Flight enabled in DJI Pilot, and with the RTK in FIX status. The relative altitude was set to 50 m, flight speed to 10 m/s, gimbal pitch to -90°, and each straight segment of the flight route was less than 1000 m. DJI Terra was used for post-processing.
[3] In operations with two or three returns, the point rate is 480,000 pts/s
