Atomos Shinobi II
The Atomos Shinobi II is a secure display for viewing your footage in real-time, as well as offering control features for checking or adjusting aspects such as exposure and framing during production. This lightweight, bright, and user-friendly monitor is guaranteed to improve your filmmaking, vlogging and photography workflow.
Portable build
The lightweight (only 210g) and slim body (151mm x 91.5mm x 20.8mm, 28.5mm with locking cable adaptor attached) of the Shinobi II is designed to be compatible with a high-activity environment. Perfect for vlogging or on-the-go video production. The battery compartment is placed at the centre of the device, improving its balance and manoeuvrability. Plus, the included HDMI and USB-C locking adapter allows you to use Atomos' new line of locking cables and features added holes for locating pins at the bottom, ensuring rock-solid connectivity in any situation. This 4K monitor can be easily mounted onto any HDMI camera setup without worrying about unbalanced weight distribution.
Bright 5-inch touchscreen
A 1500nit HDR monitor ensures peak brightness, especially helpful when shooting outdoors. The high-resolution touchscreen is 50% brighter than the previous Shinobi model, producing a clear display. This works alongside the user-friendly AtomOS 11 interface to let you easily keep up with the action and change your settings seamlessly.
Full control
Control sliders allow for precise exposure adjustment to white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO with immediate and responsive access, while the Shinobi II’s camera status indicators let you check the camera’s internal record settings, battery status & remaining record time.
The software offers advanced screen processing technology and professional monitoring tools, along with exciting new hardware capabilities like camera control. You can take command of Canon, Panasonic, or Sony cameras through a USB-C connection, as well as Z CAM cameras using an optional USB-C to Serial cable. Additional camera brands will be supported in future firmware updates.
Long-lasting battery
Shinobi II's low power consumption and efficient hardware allow it to operate for an entire day on a single battery charge. The device offers flexible power options, enabling you to power it using NP-F style batteries, the optional battery eliminator in combination with the DC barrel to D-Tap cable, or through USB-C PD (10W input). Additionally, you can charge or power your camera via the USB-C PD (13W output) port while using the Shinobi.
Quick analysis and framing
The multi-tool Analysis View provides all the essential information at a glance, while a Selfie Mirror Mode is ideal for vloggers wanting to adjust their shots. For video content, the red edge display indicates when the camera is recording internally, regardless of whether it's triggered by the camera or from the Shinobi II.
Shinobi II can be used to adjust your camera's aperture, shutter speed/angle, and ISO alongside its built-in advanced exposure tools like false colour, zebras, histograms, waveforms, and vectorscopes to achieve perfect exposure every time.
Utilising a single HDMI 1.4 port you can monitor a variety of input signals in various resolutions and frame rates, including 4K DCI, 4K UHD up to 30p, and 1080p HD up to 60p.
Achieve perfect framing and composition with a 9-grid and frame guides for every delivery medium. Use a variety of cinema-style or social media-focused frame guides to compose your shots, including presets for 2.41, 2.35, 1.91, 1.9, 1.85, 16:9, 9:16, 4:5, 2:3, 1:1, 5:4, 4:3, and 3:2.
Realtime LUTs Preview
The Shinobi II offers advanced monitoring capabilities, including HDR monitoring and LUT support. This allows you to apply and compare different looks for post-production, giving you a more accurate understanding of the final image appearance. This, in turn, enables you to make real-time lighting adjustments on set. The monitor's HDR HLG and HDR PQ modes let you preview how your camera's LOG output might look in HDR. Additionally, you can upload up to 8 LUTs to the Shinobi's built-in storage, allowing you to preview your shots in your preferred looks.
