Around March, I start feeling guilty as many of the big photo competitions are getting ready to close and I start thinking that i should enter them! And despite my best efforts and intentions it always seems like the 11th hour as I get round to filling in online entries. The same sort of enjoyment as preparing my tax return!
A very talented professional (and very successful!) photographer friend once advised me that it was worth entering - and hopefully winning! - competitions as it was a good was of getting your name known and I think she’s right.
So, much as I hate the process of sifting through images and trying to decide what to enter, I usually find that in March that is exactly what I’m doing!
